Paucity of Manpower Hindering Local Governments Operations – – SSA LGs

Paucity of critical manpower has been identified as one of the problems bedeviling smooth operations of local governments in the state.

This assertion was made by the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to Kano State Governor on Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon. Bashar Abubakar Yaro Galadima while addressing staffers of kumbotso, Dawakin kudu, and Warawa local government respectively as part of state wide sensitization of local governments staffers.

Hon. Bashar Abubakar said the state government is aware of the issue of manpower Shortage which is posing hitches in the local governments operations and is working relentlessly to address it.

Other issue identified by the SSA was the non transfer of salary cards of Senior Officers relocated to other local governments which inturn negatively affect the financial capacities of the Councils.

He therefore assured the local councils that the administration of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has so many plans of improving the standard of civil service and as well as provision of welfare package to workers with a view to encouraging them to perform their assignments effectively.

Speaking separately, the three local governments chairmen of kumbotso, Hon.Abdullahi Ghali Basaf, and that of Dawakin kudu Hon. Sani Ahmed Mai Rago, represented by his Vice, Hon. Shuaibu Mohammad Yargaya and Warawa, Hon.Lamido Sunusi Ahmed acknowledged the committement of the state government for approving projects for grassroots development.

They appreciated the gesture and pledged to continue to support all policies and government programs with a view to provide social amenities that will improve the socio economic wellbeing of people.

The visitations were rounded off with interective sessions to harvest opinions and suggestions of the Staffers on how to improve local governments services.
